Principals Message
It’s been an exciting fall at Horseshoe Heights! Our first school sports teams of the year—flag football and cross country—had an amazing season. Both teams showed incredible teamwork, perseverance, and school spirit as they represented Horseshoe Heights with pride. We’re so proud of all our athletes and coaches for their dedication and effort!October also brought plenty of fun and energy with our Halloween Dance-A-Thon. It was wonderful to see our students dancing, laughing, and celebrating together while helping to raise funds for our school. A huge thank you to our families for their ongoing support and generosity.Because of your fundraising efforts, we were able to add new tarmac lines to our school yard, bringing bright, engaging spaces for games, activities, and active play. It’s already made recess time even more fun for our students! This fundraiser effort brought in over $8500 which will help support Athletics, Technology, Playground Enhancements, and Music at Horseshoe Heights.
As we move into November, we look forward to continuing this wonderful momentum of learning, teamwork, and community spirit at Horseshoe Heights. This Friday our Progress Reports will be coming home and next week we will be holding our Parent Teacher interviews. Please ensure that you have signed up for a time to come in with your child to hear about how your child is progressing in their learning. We will also be holding a Remembrance Day ceremony on November 11th beginning at 9:50 which many of our classes will have a role in.
Sincerely,
Dianna Wright-Drzazga
Reminder: Caring for Our School
We are so fortunate to have a bright, welcoming, and well-maintained school building and grounds. Recently, there have been a few incidents of damage in the student washrooms. We ask families to please take a moment to talk with their children about the importance of respecting our shared spaces and taking pride in our new school. Together, we can help keep Horseshoe Heights a clean, safe, and positive place for everyone.
Lost and Found
We have a number of items in our lost and found. Please ask your child to take a look at the lost and found area on the second floor to see if any items belong to them. We will also have the lost and found set out by the front foyer during the week of Parent Teacher interviews.
School Council – School Yard Survey
Please help our Parent Council by highlighting your priorities for the school yard by filling out the linked survey below.

We hope that you can discuss with the students in your household and focus on how they most often spend their time outdoors. Consider the interests of all students in your household when making your final selections.
Thank you, your feedback is truly appreciated!

Remembrance and the Poppy Campaign
Every year, from the last Friday of October to November 11, tens of millions of Canadians wear a Poppy as a visual pledge to honour Canada’s Veterans and remember those who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today.
The Poppy is distributed freely to all who wish to wear one, and the Legion gratefully accepts donations to the Poppy Fund.
If you’re able to donate to the Poppy Fund, please visit:
